Task 11

Translate into Russian the following idioms:

to go out of one’s way

Dutch bargain;

Apples and oranges;

Necessity is the mother of inventions

to ask for trouble.

Task 12

Find in the text given below and write out all the metaphors and idioms:

The policy of our firm is aimed to better serving the customers while dealing with them either in our office or outdoors. It must leave no chance for red tape or any rudeness with the clients. Let me remind you our slogan:”Client is always right”. Never make him feel out of place with you. Customers never complain, they simply never come back! To meet every need of our potential buyer is a must for every employee of our company. Actually, it’s a piece of cake.

Corporate culture – this is another touchy subject. There is only one day in a week when we can allow ourselves to appear in a casual wear in the office, like jeans and T-shirts or sweaters. This is Saturday. Everyday routine is the following: coat and tie for a man and suit with blouse for a woman. No smoking in the office. No any celebrating of somebody’s birthday. Top management will never turn a blind eye to such kind of a mess. Those who fail to meet these requirements won’t get away with it. I do not try to exaggerate things or make a mountain out of a molehill but there is still an open field for work.
