MY WORKING DAY

On working days the alarm-clock wakes me up and my working day begins. I'm an early-riser. That's why on week-days I get up when the hands of the clock point 6. As I am still feeling sleepy I stretch myself lazily and yawn. I jump out of bed, run to the window and open it wide to let the fresh morning air in. After that I do my morning exercises. I have a cold rub down. Then I dry myself with a towel and comb myself.

Now it's time to dress. I put on my clothes and hurry to the kitchen. Usually I have no time to cook something substantial, so I just have a cup of tea and some sandwiches. After breakfast I leave for work. As I live in a 5 minute walk from my office I often meet my fellow-workers and colleagues and we go on together talking shop.

My working day starts at 9 sharp. I work till half past twelve and then go out for dinner. As a rule I have a bite at the coffee-bar which is just round the corner. Then I return to the office and work steadily till 6. I am a student of the extra-mural department of the University. I want to become a good specialist so I work and often spend my evenings in the reading-room of the library preparing my home assignments. It is not easy to work and study at the same time. So in the evening I feel quite exhausted. As I have to do much work about the house I often keep late hours.

I go to bed at about 11 o'clock and fall asleep immediately.

MY DAY OFF

During my working week I'm very busy. I often keep late hours, so by Saturday I feel quite exhausted and need a good rest.

I always make up my plans for the week-end beforehand. Usually I try both to relax and to catch up with the jobs for which I have not time during the week.

My mother calls me a homesort because I like to stay at home. I am fond of knitting, embroidering, especially when there is nobody around. I often enjoy watching my favourite programmes on TV because I think that it is the most convenient and useful entertainment.

It informs us about the latest news and widens our horizon.

But when the weather is good I like to go away for the week-end.

In summer my friends and I often go hiking or for picnics. There we listen to the silence of wood and singing of birds, enjoy fragrance of fresh air, watch sunsets and falling stars in the night sky.

I am a rather sociable person. I like to meet people and to receive guests. So my friends usually come to my place and we arrange tea parties. Sometimes for a change we have a stroll in the open air or go to the cinema if there is something interesting on.

Besides, on week-end I never forget about my household chores. During the week I am pressed for time and put off some of my duties till the day off. So on Sunday I do general cleaning and weekly washing.

But whatever I do the holidays flash past and there is another busy week ahead.
