Kazakhstan is a country in central Asia, which was part of the former Soviet Union. Capital: Astana. Population: 16,200,000 (2011). (1917-63) A US politician in the Democratic Party who was President of the US from 1961 to 1963.

He was an extremely popular president, and he planned to improve education, the system of medical care, and civil rights in the US, although it was Lyndon B. Johnson who achieved most of these plans after Kennedy's death. In 1961 Kennedy ordered the invasion of the Bay of Pigs in Cuba, and he was strongly criticized for this. Two years later he was shot in Dallas, Texas, and Lee Harvey Oswald was accused of killing him.

A country in East Africa which became independent from Britain in 1963, and is a

member of the British Commonwealth. Population: 43,013,341 (2012). Capital: Nairobi. Kenya produces coffee and tea, and is popular with tourists who go to see the wild animals in the safari parks there.

CULTURAL NOTE People usually only kiss someone on the mouth if they are having a romantic relationship. Parents and children will also kiss each other on the cheek or forehead.
