DAY FIVE – Saturday, May 23rd 2015

Praesidium & Sulmona & Wildlife & Nature & Arrivederci

  • After breakfast, it will e time to say goodbye to our hosts at Agriturismo La Rustica, as we head towards the village of Prezza to meet Antonia from Cantina Praesidium
  • Our wine tasting will be anticipated by a visit to their Cantina Diffusa within the Old Village of Prezza

· Then we head toward the classically beautiful Italian town of Sulmona, world renowned for its confetti

· A stroll through this historical village to visit its shops and hopefully we will catch the market in Sulmona’s busy Piazza Garibaldi towered by the historical Roman Aqueduct

· Lunch will be in one of the best restaurants in town: “Clemente” with our hostess Isabella!

 

· 14:30: After lunch, beginning of:

Abruzzo Wildlife&Nature Adventure

DAY FIVE – Saturday, May 23rd 2015 – starting 14:30 / 15:00

Sulmona - Wildlife & Nature Adventure – National Park of Abruzzo – Civitella Alfedena – Bird Watching

  • After lunch, meet up with Giacomo and Piero, our Abruzzo1.com Nature & Adventure qualified top guides
  • Transfer to to the very heart of the Parco Nazionale d’Abruzzo to the village of Civitella Alfedena with your guides
  • Check in at the local hotel followed by an excursion to the Barrea Lake and around the area to observe the typical bird species with our qualified orthinologist
  • This experience might also offer a chance to see the Marsican Bear and deer
  • Chance to observe the sunset before dinner
  • Good night’s sleep in the silence of the National Park, most likely broken only by the howling of wolves in the Abruzzo Gran Sasso

 

DAY SIX – Sunday, May 24th 2015

Break of Dawn – Full Day in the National Park & Watching Sessions – Excursion to the “Camosciara” – Nature Photography Sessions

  • This morning our wake-up call will be at the crack of dawn to have a chance to see Nature awakening
  • Bird watching session with our orthinologist
  • Watching sessions: Marsican Bear, deer, chamois, eagles, wolves, foxes, boars
  • Howling of the wolves session
  • Excursion to the Camosciara (the “Chamois Walk”) to see rare flowers such as the Lady’s Slipper Orchid (Cypripedium calceolus)
  • Packed / Picnic lunch in the forest
  • Afternoon session in the National Park with a chance of a Nature Photography Masterclass with your guides
  • Chance to observe the sunset before dinner
  • Good night’s sleep in the silence of the National Park, most likely broken only by the howling of wolves in the Abruzzo Gran Sasso

 

DAY SEVEN – Monday, May 25th 2015

Break of Dawn –National Park & Watching Sessions – Pescara - Rome

  • This morning Giacomo and Pietro will further take you inside the Abruzzo National Parkfor more activities
  • Packed / Picnic lunch in the forest or hotel
  • 13:00: Transfer to Pescara to take BUS to ROMA FIUMICINO (Departure: 15:00 / Arrival FCO: 18:45)….. arrivederci Abruzzo!
