Camp ACT

ABC Camp

ABC Camp is a 10 day youth camp for Ukrainians to learn how to become civic-minded leaders. Our primary objective is to empower Ukrainian youth through daily lessons on leadership, human rights, civic debate, cross-cultural awareness, as well as project planning and implementation. Secondly, we hope to promote critical thinking and decision-making skills through team challenges and case studies. Additionally, we hope to provide students with real world examples of how to become engaged citizens improving the world around them. Our mixed staff of American Peace Corps Volunteers and Ukrainians will present campers with a tangible picture of cultural exchange and teamwork.

Camp ACT

Camp ACT is a weeklong camp that focuses on Action, Creativity and Teamwork. We hope to improve our students understanding about working together to go through problems and to find solutions. We found out that there was no oblast wide camp in our region two years ago and we thought that the best way to combat this was to create our own. This will mark the second year of the camp. We work on also helping students get a wider view on the world as many of our lessons and themes have a multicultural component to them. Our camp is also staffed by half Ukrainian and half American volunteers so not only can we teach the students but we can help improve the skills of our Ukrainian counterparts so they too can create a camp and/or work at Camp ACT in the years to follow.
