Sometimes it seems to me that our life is like a deep and completely unpredictable river with numerous turns and waterfalls. Furthermore, it is full of hardships which sometimes are very difficult to overcome. Nevertheless, everyone wants to be happy which means to have a loving family that can always support you, to have enough money to live on and, of course, to have a roof under one’s head. Unfortunately, some people don’t have anything at all and a young man called Danny is one of them. He is the main character of the story “Big business”. In fact, this fellow was very poor and miserable: he had nothing to eat, nowhere to live, and on the top of all he had a hole in his shoes. Well, someone may say that he should have found some work to start earning on his living. Actually, Danny had been looking for a job for a long time, but there was no even the ghost of a chance of getting one. It must be said, that Danny certainly was no a fool, he was good at anything, but still he had to smoke dog-ends thrown away by others and try to make both ends meet with only eight dollars and fifty cents in the torn pocket of his trousers. But at last good luck smiled at him. I t happened so that while hiding from a heavy rain in the main hall of the Post Office he found an envelope with a letter inside it. From the letter he found out that a one thousand dollar bill had been left by some mister in the inside pocket of his blue worsted suit, which he sold with some other things to the clothes dealer. Having got such a happy chance Danny decided to risk his last eight dollars and buy the suit. So, he went to this second-hand shop and asked the shop-keeper to bring him a suit, preferably worsted one. And the seller gave him the very suit that had been described in the letter. Danny tried it on and despite the jacket hung loosely from his narrow shoulders, he paid the price for it without bargaining. After a quarter of an hour Danny took out a black leather wallet, opened it and found there instead of a thousand dollar bill eleven thousand three hundred dollars. Danny couldn’t believe his eyes; he was so excited that he could hardly say a word. It turned out that the letter had been written on purpose by the dealer to earn more money. But alas the salesman had sold Danny the jacket of the shop-owner with all his money.

To sum up, I’d like to say that on the one hand it is immoral to read other people’s letters. But on the other hand I convinced that anyone being in Danny’s shoes would never refuse money or bring them back to the owner. In my opinion that is because we’re all human beings and love for money is our greatest weakness.
