We ran to the bus stop, laughing at the thought of the fancy dress part\

Don and Maria sat in the cafe, talking about what to do when they left

school.

The Smith family packed their suitcases, thinking about their holiday

destination.

Paula lay on her bed, worrying about the exam the next day.

Trudy drove to work, not looking forward to the difficult day ahead.

Mr Jones wrote a letter to the bank, asking for an appointment the

following week.

10 1 'I must rush or I'll be late. Don't forget to pick me up after school!'said

Patrick hurriedly to his mum.

2 After driving for what seemed like hours, we eventually arrived at our
hotel.

3 Thank you for the invitation, but unfortunately we won't be able to
attend your wedding on 24 May.

4 'Isn't British weather just wonderful?' said Margaret ironically as we sat
looking at the crowds of people sheltering from the rain underneath
