1.1 Functions & Features
Main functions of Remote surveillance program - Remote status monitoring (Video, Audio, Sensor, Control) - Group mode support (Simultaneous surveillance of maximum 16 channels) - Remote control (PTZ, Relay, emergency recording) - Remote search - Remote file saving - Remote setting - Two-way audio communication - Recording & searching - Remote Back-up (Manual, Auto)
1.2 System installation
Execute RSSetup.exe file.
Click “Next” and proceed the next procedure. - DirectX 9.0 is necessarily required to execute the program, so install it first. - When the installation is completed, the “Remote Surveillance” icon is displayed on the Windows background. The user also can see the “direct access” icon in Start / Program / DVR / NETWORK. - Execute the icon on the Windows background or Start / Program / DVR / NETWORK to operate the program.
1.3 How to use
The main screen of the remote surveillance program is composed of several parts as below.
1.3.1. Log-in The factory default mode ID is “system” and the password is “manager”. After any user is registered in the program, they can not be used any more. If the user is registered already, the user can log in with the registered ID & password.
1.3.2. Registration When the user clicks the registration button of the main screen, the registration window will be floated up.
1.3.2.1 Site registration Click the site icon in the upper-left side of the screen to register a site.
(1) New site registration Input the site name, IP address, the registered User ID & Password. Select LAN or ISDN/Modem in the Network part. Then, click the “Site Add” button to complete the registration. If the user connects to the DVR without ID & Password, the user can use Anonymous Connection check box, but the available functions are limited. (Only live video & audio monitoring are available.) Port of this screen means TCP/IP Port and it should be same to the DVR setting. If the number is prohibited, make the Port number available at the firewall or change the port number of the DVR & RS program setting.
(2) Editing the registered site information Select the site to edit in the registered site list, and click the “Edit” button after changing the currently recorded information.
(3) Deleting the registered site Select the site to delete in the registered site list, and click the “Delete” button.
1.3.2.2 Group registration Click the Group icon in the upper-left side of the screen to register a group.
Click the “Add Group” button and input a new group name. Then click the group name and double click the site address part to position the selected camera. The user can position the cameras without considering the sequence.
(For example, if the 6th camera of A site is positioned in index no. 1, the 3rd camera of B site could be positioned in index no. 2.)
The IP addresses of registered sites that the user sets in 2.1 of this manual will be displayed in the “Site Name”. Select the IP address & camera number and click the “Save button” to complete the positioning. The user can not position the same camera twice in a group.
1.3.2.3 User registration
(1) New user registration Click the “ADD” button after inputting the new user’s registration information. (2) Editing the user’s information. Select the user to edit in the registered user list, and click the “Edit” button after changing the currently recorded information & inputting the password again in “Conf. Password”. (3) Deleting the user’s ID Select the user’ ID to delete in the registered user list, and click the “Delete” button after inputting the password in “Conf. Password”.
1.3.2.4 System setting
The user can setup the functions with clicking system icon. (1) Language: The user can choose Language of the program. (2) Display Mode in one screen When one channel is to be displayed, the user can choose to display the image either enlarging image on the whole screen area, or the original size. (3) With clicking MODEM/ISDN button, Network Setup Wizard of the Window is to be operated to set MODEM. MODEM/ISDN. (4) Event Pop-up The user can choose the event type which happens in DVR, when the user want to activate popup in the Client program. (5) Alarm Sound The user can choose warning sound for the remote program, when an event happens in DVR. (6) Recording data path The user can set a path to save display data for emergency recording. (7) Back-up path (VDB) The location where user want to backup by VDB file type. (8) Back-up path (AVI) The location where user want to backup by VDB file type. (9) Back-up log The location where user want to backup by Backup log Maximum Backup Speed: to set up bandwidth of the network for backup.
1.3.3. Connection Both one site connection and group site connection are available.
1.3.3.1 One site connection Connection is made with clicking of the user want to connect the site Site status is shown by the color of the icon. - Yellow: connected - Red: Event Alarm - Grey: not connected The connection can be continued for each site and only the selected site can be monitored. When the connection is continued, the color is yellow. To see the connected site’s image, click on the list of the site. With clicking + on the tree, the user can see camera, sensor and relay out status of the each site.
1.3.3.2 Group connection In group mode, the group names that are registered in “Group registration” are displayed in the left side, and the camera combination of the selected group Is displayed in the right side. Select the group to connect and click the connection button.
1.3.3.3 Disconnection To disconnect one channel which the user sets in 3.1 of this manual, click button, and to disconnect all channels, click button.
1.3.4. Real time video surveillance (Live) When the user connects to the selected site, the real-time video image is displayed with the related information. (The site & camera name (as set in the DVR) in the upper-left side, image size in the bottom-left side, “Live” in the upper-right side)
1.3.4.1 Screen division The user can select the image display mode among the various screen division modes of 1, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 13, 16 divisions. Select a division mode among the buttons below.
1.3.4.2 Full screen The whole screen is turned to the image display area. To return to the pre-screen mode, click the right button of the mouse.
1.3.4.3 Screen rotation Currently displayed screen division mode is rotated automatically.
1.3.4.4 Snap shot The user can capture, record & print the currently displayed image by this button.
1.3.4.5 Next screen Currently displayed screen division mode is turned to the next screen. For example, if 1~4 channel are displayed currently, the screen will be turned to 5~8 channels by this button.
1.3.4.6 Screen location change The user can exchange screen locations by Drag-Drop the left button of the mouse.
1.3.4.7 Audio playback To listen to the recorded audio data, click the selected camera button or the image of the channel that the audio recording is set in the DVR, while the audio button is selected.
1.3.4.8 Channel Connect This function is used when the user want to see the live display or search of the other site. If the right button is clicked, the below menu is activated.
(1) Live Monitoring: The specified image is displayed with clicking ‘ok’ after choosing site, camera and live.
(2) Channel Search: Time Window is displayed with choosing the specified site and camera. Type in date and time to see search window. ‘PLAYBACK’ will be displayed on the upper right screen.
1.3.4.9 Channel Save To save specified channel while monitoring, click right area of the screen, and choose ‘ start saving’ from the menu list to see “LIVE+REC” on the upper right area. The channel will be saved in the indicated route as in 3.2.4.(6). To search channels, route search function is needed as in the 1.3.12. To stop saving, click ‘stop saving’ with clicking on the right button of mouse.
1.3.4.10 Live Panorama The user can choose ‘start panorama’ of the desired channel with clicking of the right button of the mouse. To stop this, choose ‘stop panorama’ with clicking of the right button of the mouse, the image is returned to the general monitoring mode.
1.3.5. Alarm event When remote notification is setup in the connected site or DVR, Camera disconnection, Sensor, Motion Detection are displayed real-time.
1.3.6. Remote file saving button Remote real-time images can be saved in the client’s PC. The data is saved as designated in 3.2.4(6). Clicking button starts saving the whole screen, and each channel shows ‘LIVE+REC’. When saving is finished the message is changed to ‘LIVE’.
1.3.7. Remote Pan/Tilt control Select the screen to control the pan/tilt and operate the function with the buttons below. If the pan/tilt function is operated in the DVR, the remote control does not work.
1.3.8. Remote sensor detection & relay control The sensor detection & relay status of the selected site is displayed in real-time. The user can operate on/off control remotely.
1.3.9. Remote environment setting The user can operate remote environment setting by using remote setting button. If the user clicks the remote setting button, the “Environment setup” screen of the selected DVR will be displayed. (Please refer to the software manual. If the selected DVR is currently being set, the remote setting does not work.)
1.3.10. Two-way audio communication If the user clicks the two-way audio button in the sensor window, audio communication with the selected DVR user will be available.
1.3.11. Remote emergency recording button The remote emergency record button in the sensor window operates all channel recording remotely in an emergency. The data is recorded in the currently displayed DVR.
1.3.12. Recorded data playback Click the search tap to enter the recorded data playback screen. To return to the real- time surveillance (live) screen, click any other tap among the three taps except the search tap.
1.3.12.1 Remote search Click the selected date, hour & minute after the recorded time is displayed. Then, click the playback button to search the recorded data. 1.3.12.2 Search Saving To search saved images by clicking recording button or by channel search, click route specifying button to specify route on the saving search screen. Then choose Directory of the saved files with clicking route search button on the folder search screen..
Folder name shows Date and time. With choosing the path, files under the folder are shown. Click ‘enter’ after choosing the desired file to return to the search screen.
1.3.12.3 Channel Connection The user can monitor the current screen by channel, search other sites or different time while searching the whole screen. Please refer the 1.3.4.8
1.3.12.4 Saving Search Screen There are two ways to save current search screen; Saving by Channel with clicking the right button of the mouse and emergency recording button. ‘Playback + REC’ is displayed on the channel images recorded on the upper right.
1.3.12.5 Browse saved image panorama To see the panorama images, click the right button of the mouse and choose ‘panorama starting’. To stop this, choose ‘stop panorama’ from the right button of the mouse.
