MY FUTURE SPECIALITY

One of the most significant decisions you make in life is choosing the kind of work you want to do. It’s important to find the work that best suits you and for which you are best qualified. The person who has a career that fits his or her special needs and abilities finds satisfaction in working. I consider the occupation I’ve chosen to be the one that best suits me.

After graduating from Berdychiv College of Industry, Economics and Law I become a financier. Financier is one of the fastest-growing professions and one of the most popular fields of study at colleges and universities. Actually, one does not have to pursue finance as a career to be interested in finance. Financial understanding is important to anyone who wants to invest in stocks and bonds or plan a retirement fund. In short, finance is something everyone should study and be concerned with.

So, what is finance? Finance is the function in business that is responsible for acquiring funds within the firm (for example, preparing budges, doing cash flow analyses) and planning for the expenditures of funds on such assets as plant, equipment and machinery. As you can see, without a carefully calculated financial plan the firm has little chance for survival regardless of its product or marketing effectiveness.

Most organizations have a manager in charge of financial operations. Generally, this chief financial officer is known as the treasurer or vice-president of finance. His duties are: planning, budgeting, obtaining funds, controlling funds (funds management), collecting funds (credit management), auditing, managing taxes, and advising top management on financial matters. That is the fundamental charge is to obtain money and then plan, use, and control money effectively.

By the way, financiers are employed in a number of different job settings. On the one hand, financiers are employed by government agencies. On the other hand, private business firms are also a major source of employment for financiers, with many financiers working for banks, insurance companies, manufacturing firms etc.

I study at the faculty of Finance at Berdychiv College. I guess to be a good specialist we must have a thorough understanding of economic theory, mathematical methods of economic analysis, basic statistical procedures, Finance, Accounting, business transactions, bank payments, taxes etc. Besides, most job openings for financiers require advanced training. Those college graduates who wish to seek higher level jobs usually enter university and obtain a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance. So, on graduating from college I am going to continue my education at one of the universities of Ukraine.
