Many English people live in flats, but some of them live in their own houses. There are two floors in the traditional English house.

The bedrooms and a bathroom are upstairs on the first floor. The sitting room, the dining room, the kitchen and a hall are downstairs on the ground floor.

The sitting room is usually the largest room in the house. There is always a sofa, some chairs and armchairs in it. English people usually have a fireplace in the sitting room. They often spend evenings in armchairs near the fire. They read books, watch television, listen to music or sit around and talk. We can see usually a small garden around the house with different flowers and fruit trees. People in England like their homes and often say, "There is no place like home" and "East or West, home is best."

My flat.

I have got a flat. It is neither big nor small. It is on the fifth floor. The number of it is 59. Our flat has two rooms, a kitch­en, a bathroom and a corridor.

Our living-room is big. It is light, be­cause it has two wide windows. You can see a piano on the left. There is a round stool near the piano. The piano is new and black. The TV set is on the right. You can see an arm-chair and a sofa near the TV set. There is a picture on the wall, above the piano. It is a nice picture.

There is a round table in the middle of the room. You can see four chairs near the table. The sideboard is on the left. There are some pictures of modern painters on the wall. The carpet hanging on the wall is big and grey. I like our living-room and I of­ten spend my free time watching TV and reading newspapers and magazines in it.

I have my own room. It is small. There is no much furniture there. My room is not quite light, because it has one window.

There is a sofa on the right. The ward­robe is near the window. You can see a small desk at the window. There are two chairs at the desk and a TV set in the cor­ner of the room. The bookcase is near the door. There are many books in it. I have many bookshelves in my room. You can see Russian and English books there. I like my room very much. When my friends come to see me I invite them into my room. It is a pity that we have no balcony.

Our kitchen is big and comfortable. The furniture in the kitchen is not dark, it is light. A new refrigerator stands near the window. We usually have breakfast and supper in the kitchen.

The bathroom is small. We wash our­selves there in the morning and in the evening. You can see a washing-machine near the door. We have a vacuum-cleaner, it is in the bathroom too.

The corridor of our flat is long and nar­row. There is a telephone in it.

I like my flat. My friends say that it is a good one.

Animals.

There are a lot of wild animals in the world. Some animals are very dangerous. For example: crocodiles, tigers, bears, lions, wolves. Wild animals are divided into two groups: animals that eat only grass, leaves and flowers and animals that eat meat and insects. You can see wild animals all over the world. They live in the mountains, in the fields or in the forests. All wild animals are different, we can see bright and dark coloured animals. They can have big or small teeth, long or short legs and different tails. If you want to see wild animals, you can go to the Zoo.

There are many domestic and wild animals on the earth. I want tell about wild animals. Some animals eat leaves and some animals eat meat. The tiger, lion, crocodile eat meat. The elephant, giraffe and monkey eat leaves. Some animals live in the jungle and some animals live in the water. The crocodile live in the water but monkey live in the jungle. The lion, tiger other animals eat little animals. And many wild animals can eat people. Some people keep wild animals in the house.
