Technical University

The Russian Federation is a state where education is accessible to everybody. Every citizen has a right to education according to the constitution of the Russian Federation. The network of schools of higher education has grown in our country. Now there are 500 higher schools. Over 8 million students study in institutes.

The grown economy of our country needs specialists in all fields of science and in will branches of industry and agriculture. To meet these needs many our towns were turned into educational centers. Krasnoyarsk is one of them.

At the disposal of our youth their are12 higher schools in Krasnoyarsk. One of the parts of our town is called “Student Township”. Here on the Afontovo hill the Krasnoyarsk Technical University stands. It is one of the biggest higher schools of our town. Today Technical University is considered as one of the largest educational and scientific centers of Siberia and Far Fast.

The Technical University was founded in 1956. It was opened with 300 students and had only three faculties. Now there are 8 faculties. They are: Radio – Engineering, Electric – Mechanical, Machine – Building, Thermal – Power Engineering, Auto – Transport, the Faculty of Automatics and Computing Technique, Mechanical – Technological and the faculty of Economics.

Besides there are correspondence and evening departments for those who wish to combine work with study. The University also has the post – graduate course.

About 700 teachers work at the University. The staff has some professors and many candidates of science. Over 13000 students study at the Technical University. They have good conditions for their study.

The university has 5 academic buildings. All the University buildings have spacious classrooms, many laboratories and workshops provided with the educational equipment. The University library and reading-rooms provide the students with all necessary textbooks and specialized periodicals. Each faculty has its own hostel. The University has sport halls, stadiums, and a swimming pool. There is a camp on the Krasnoyarsk seashore for the research workers and students. Various students’ scientific societies where thestudents carry on research work, amateur clubs, sport circles are at the students’ disposal.

The doors of the University are widely opened for those who to become engineers.

My specialty

While choosing a job many factors should be taken into consideration: wages and salaries, job-satisfaction, opportunities to travel and to see much. For me, the most important criterion is job-satisfaction and that’s why I have chosen the profession of an economist. Economy is a compound part of any social life. The students who have done well with all their studies and passed the state examinations get the qualification of an economist.

At the university the students make acquaintance with the principles of economic activity. A great deal of time the students spend on commerce and its functions, customer s demands, commerce turnover, material base, commerce funds and finance. My theoretical knowledge is enriched by the practice.

My specialty is considered to be very important and urgent especially nowadays. Modern Commerce has a tendency of transition to the market relation. Different forms of property appear, commercial banks, join-stock companies, join-ventures, auction play a very important role in our society. The students have got deep knowledge in planning of economy, labour economics, economy and computer science. Now I know haw to plan money-costs, count productivity and calculate the growth trade turnover.

There 3 aspects Id like to deal with in future: marketing, advertising and management with linguistics.

Marketing research communications, planning and advertising are simply impossible without a foreign language.

My future specialty is quite difficult and requires discipline and high quality of work.

Marketing

Marketing includes all the business activities connected with the movement of goods and services from producers to consumers. Sometimes it is called distribution. On the one hand, marketing is made up of such activities as transporting, storing and selling goods and, on the othe hand, a series of decisions you make during the process of moving goods from producer to user. Marketing operations include product planning, buying, promotion, selling, credit, traffic and marketing research.

The ability to recognize early trends is very important. Producers must know why, where, for what purpose the consumers buy. Market research helps the producer to predict what the people will want. And through abvertizing he attempts to influence the customer to buy. Marketing operations are very expensive. They up more than halt of consumer’s dollar. The trend in the USA has been to high mass consumption. The construction of good shopping centres has made goods available to consumers. It provided a wide range of merchandise and plenty of parking facilities.
