| The world ecological situation doesn’t seem to be “peaceful”, it looks like a war for ruining and saving nature at the same time. Why do we make such a sad conclusion? If we look at the world like flying high in the sky, we will get a very mournful sight. Beautiful green landscapes change to grey misty views, which are full of unhealthy smoke. Gradually the precious natural gifts disappear from the Earth. Quite probably, our children, grandsons and granddaughters won’t see the untroubled blue sky and strong trees will be shown only in the pictures. Our planet is in danger! But we don’t hear it crying for help, we don’t notice its diseases. |
| Everybody knows the simple truth that “assistance to drowning persons is in the hands of those persons themselves”. Yes, it’s a famous quote from Ilf’s and Petrov’s novel “12 chairs”. And it’s right. Another writer Haruki Murakami mentioned in his book “What I talk about when I talk about running”: ”What the world needs is a set villain that people can paint at and say: “It’s your fault!” Don’t you recognize yourself in this phrase? Our society has always suffered this problem. But… The world will never change. It doesn’t want to do this. We have got accustomed to destroy the planet ecologically and socially. We get on with the fires, floods, ozone layer destruction, burying nuclear wastes, killing rare animals and plants like we’ve adjusted to terrorism, racism, humiliation and meanness usually thinking that it’s abnormal but doing nothing. Try to look deeper! The word “world” has a different meaning than the people always think of. Like it or not the main point is always the same: the nature is the only for us, we all are her children, we are destroying our house. Isn’t it enough? |
| Now you. Yes, you who’s reading it. What are you exactly thinking about when you see a pile of rubbish again? Or breathing the exhaust gases? Are you still making yourself believe that it’s not your business? If we are unable to learn to use the environment carefully and protect it from damage caused my man’s activities, very soon we’ll have no world to live in. |
| It’s not important that we speak different languages and have such unlike views of life. (We should say they are far from ideal) We have only one world. Although everybody has their own opinion on this point (we mean the whole system of the world and society), there’s no difference we speak about Haruki Murakami or a common farmer. Our future is in our hands, it mustn't become the struggle for existence. Let’s restore “the peace in ecology”, recreate the harmony in our relationship with “the Mother Nature”. We are different but we are the whole. It doesn’t matter where we are, only the right humanity purposes and our children future does. |
| We call ourselves the seekers of happiness. Being always unpleased by the situation that gets out of control is not the right way for living in peace with the world. Learn the lessons, accept the challenges it offers, get your own harmony for present and future. The peace in the world and ecology consists of the peace in your mind. |
