Hotel - is a business enterprise aimed to provide accommodation and food services for tourists and a number of extra services (conference-hall rent, beauty parlor).

Comfort level is the main factor which affects the definition of hotel class. Every state understands the comfort level as the classification guide in different way. This issue and also some factors connected with cultural and national traditions stand in the way of introducing common classification of hotels.

The following table is the key to symbols and abbreviations used in hotel business.


TV and refrigerator on the floor. No less than two bathrooms on the floor, one toilet for no less than five rooms. In the room there are wash-basin, mirror, radio, two towels for each guest. Everyday cleaning, change of linen is made every 5 days, change of towels - every 3 days.
Equals to 1* hotel except the following factors: change of linen every 3 days. Restaurant or cafe and laundry should be in the hotel. Guest should be provided with different variants of meals.
From 3* hotel every room should be equipped with toilet and bath, TV set, fridge and air-conditioner. Change of towels should be made every day. The territory of hotel should have parking, hairdresser’s, business-centre, currency exchange and booking desk for different modes of transport. Hotel stuff should wear a uniform according to their status.
Equals to 3*, plus: telephone, hair-drier, shampoo, bath gel in every room. Change of towels every day (there are no less than 5 towels for every guest). Breakfast Menu is in every room. There are beauty parlor, health and fitness centre and car rent on the territory of hotel. You will see the light plate with the name of hotel. You will be welcomed by a porter.
Equals to 4* but higher class. Second lavatory, telephone is also provided in the bathroom.
(HV-1) Club hotel with the highest standards (accommodation in cottages). It equals to 3-4* hotels but it also has great landscaped territory, animation & entertainment. Only disadvantage is small rooms.
(HV-2) Second rank club hotel, lower than HV-1.
