Years of State Symbols (Emblem, Flag, Anthem) of the Republic of Kazakhstan

In June of 1992, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the laws “About State Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, “About the State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan” and “About the musical version of the National Anthem of The Republic of Kazakhstan”

The State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan has the form of a circle. It is represented by the image of Shanyrak (circular domed roof of a Yurta), around which there are Uyks (stocks) resembling the sun rays, against the blue background. From the left and to the right Shanyrak have the images of mythological horses with the wings.

The image of the Tulpars stands for such notions as bravery and will power from time immemorial. The wings symbolize the dream of multinational people of Kazakhstan to build strong, prosperous state. It is representation of our fair thoughts and aspiration to perfection, achievement of harmony with the nature and world civilization, fulfillment of our lofty goals, and development.

At the top of the Emblem there is a five-pointed star and at the bottom – “Kazakhstan” inscription. Each person has to have own lodestar, country is bound it have it too. The pentagonal star that tops our Emblem means elevation of thoughts and the inextinguishable viability of our state. The authors of the State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan are Zhandarbek Malibekov and Shota Ualikhanov.

The State Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a blue rectangular cloth in the centre of which there is the image of the Sun with the rays above a hovering eagle. There is a vertical stripe of a national ornamental pattern near the flagpole. The images of the Sun, its rays, eagle and national ornamental pattern are gold colored.

The main element of a national flag is its color. Light blue color concerns to number of those colors which for a long time is widely used by mankind as one of bright, expressive and pleasant. Pure blue color of a flag indicates the cultural-ethnic unity of people and simultaneously specifies idea of inseparability of the state.
The sun is a source of life and energy, symbol of richness and abundance. The silhouette of an eagle means the government power, breadth and sagacity. At the same time, the eagle having strong power which is capable to give worthy repulse to any who tries to prevent his achievement of the future. The author of the National Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan is an artist Shaken Niyazbekov.

Anthem (“Менің Қазақстаным”) – is a popular song, which has written in second half fiftieth of the last century, became the basis of a new anthem. Since the amendments to the text introduced by President Nursultan Nazarbayev, he is shown as co-author of the text. Music composer is Kaldayakov Shamshi, text is by Zhumeken Nazhimedenov and Nursultan Nazarbayev.
