Cement consumption is heavily dependent on both residential and non-residential construction, and the outlook for these sectors determines the outlook for cement demand. In 2013, total cement demand in Kazakhstan was 8.8mn ton. 7.1 mn tons of demand were supplied by domestic production, while 1.7mn tons were supplied by import. Major import countries were Russia, Iran, Uzbekistan

Despite high production capacities in the country, cement imports are growing gradually each year, which can be explained by an inability to satisfy demand for cement in certain regions in Kazakhstan. It gives an opportunity to foreign cement producers to enter the market

On the other hand, in order to supply cement in Kazakhstan, it is planned to open several cement plants. Starting from 2014 Caspian Cement plant located in Western Kazakhstan will start to operate
