Strengths
■ All quarries required for cement production are leased. It substantially decreases quarry costs as specialized companies mine raw materials less expensive ■ To produce clinker, GC constructs clinker line with capacity of 2500 TPD. ■ Company inherited high debt from Akkord while its establishment ■ Exposure to clients- company is new in the market and building relations with prospective clients ■ Company’s client portfolio is dominated by big customers over small customers ■ Company cannot push its clieWnts harder to decrease days receivables outstanding. This is because company is new in the market ■ Exposure to suppliers- Mining and delivery of all raw materials are outsourced. It increases bargaining power of suppliers

Opportunities
■ The demand in the market has been growing giving the boom in construction sector. Although the boom in construction sector has been fading for last 3 years, new government supported projects will generate necessary demand ■ GoA clearly interested in expansOion of non-oil sectors, including construction sector. As part of this interest, the year of 2014 was announced “Year of Industry” ■ Eastern part of Georgia generates additional demand for the company ■ Large infrastructure projects in the region and overall in Azerbaijan ■ If the Nagorno Karabakh problem is solved, Gazakh Cement will enjoy the enormous market demand necessitated from the reconstruction of the cities in Nagorno Karabakh ■ Government plans to stimulate the local production for that reason are expected to apply import quote for cement and clinker
Threats
■ Expansion of new players may cause price dumping. It is known that Holcim will not expand over next 5 years. But expansion of Norm, the largest cement producer in the country, is challenging ■ Furthermore, Norm has a potentiaTl to double its current cement capacity of 2m TPY ■ Heidelberg-Cement of Georgia has potential to challenge the market share of Gazakh Cement Plant in western regions of Azerbaijan ■ Iran and other market players that target customers who cannot afford high quality cement, may persist in the market in long term
