| My name is Sveta. I’m twelve years old. I study in the 6th form of secondary school. By nature, I’m very sociable and friendly. That’s why I have lots of good friends in my class and near the place where I live. But among all my friends there is one person who I consider to be my best friend. She lives in the same block of flats as me and we study in the same class. Her name is Lena. She is also twelve. We try to sit together during all the lessons, but some teachers don’t allow us to. It’s because when we sit together we are too chatty. We always have a lot to talk about. By appearance Lena is a tall girl with long dark hair and with brown eyes. She is very beautiful and stylish. She always wears nice clothes and many other girls from our class try to copy her. By character Lena is very friendly and kind. One of the best qualities I like about her is the fact that she can keep secrets, so she is reliable. And one of the worst things is that she is not always punctual. When we arrange to meet after school I always arrive on time, but Lena is sometimes late. I think it’s because she’ is sometimes absent-minded. But I never get mad at her, because in general she is a very positive person. She also sometimes helps me with Mathematics, as I’m not very good at this subject. And, in my turn, I help her with English and Literature. These are my favourite subjects. Besides spending time together at school, I spend lots of time with Lena after school and at weekends. We like shopping for clothes, jewelry and accessories at the nearest mall. We also like going for a walk in the city center, especially when there are certain celebrations. | Меня зовут Света. Мне двенадцать лет. Я учусь в 6-м классе средней школы. По своей натуре я очень общительный и дружелюбный человек. Вот почему у меня много хороших друзей в классе, и рядом с местом, где я живу. Но среди всех моих друзей есть один человек, которого я считаю своим лучшим другом. Она живет в одном доме со мной, и мы учиться в одном классе. Ее зовут Лена. Ей также двенадцать лет. Когда мы договариваемся встретиться после школы, я всегда прихожу вовремя, но Лена иногда опаздывает. Я думаю, это потому, что она иногда бывает рассеянной. Но я никогда не злюсь на нее, потому что в целом она очень позитивный человек. Она также иногда помогает мне с математикой, так как этот предмет мне не очень хорошо дается. И, в свою очередь, я помогаю ей с английским языком и литературой. Это мои любимые предметы. Weather.
People like to talk about the weather and they complain when the weatherman gets it wrong. They can`t forecast it for more than 7 days. And that`s the reason why we can`t rely on their forecast. I live in Moscow where the climate is continental- winters are cold, summers are hot. Our winter is rather long, about 4 months with lots of snow. I can`t say that the winter in Moscow is very cold, but we can have two or three weeks with the temperature about 15 or 25 degrees below zero. The rest of the winter can be mild and often windy. Spring may be chilly, humid and rather wet. I wouldn`t rely on the weather in spring if I want to go sightseeing. Slippery roads, fog and rain are the signs of Moscow autumn. On the other hand, our summer is becoming warmer and warmer. Our summer requires clothing made of light material, so many of us wear T-shirts and pairs of shorts. I like summer more than any other season of the year. I can go swimming, the days are long, you can grow flowers and go to parks for rest. You don`t need heavy coats and boots. Finally, I think the best time for visitors to come to Moscow is summer. No dirty snow, no dirty cars in the streets of the city. Moscow looks beautiful and welcome in summer. People seem relaxed and brighter when the weather is warm. But we should remember that long periods when the weather stays the same day after day are not very common in Moscow
