Топик №2-9 University

I am a first – year student. I study at the State Technical University (MADI) the day time department. It is situated near Airport metro station. The University was founded in 1930. It was given several awards.

MADI became the Technical University in 1992.

The complete course lasts 4 years. I study technical and humanities subjects such as mathematics, chemistry, English, history and others.

We take our examinations each term.

Our university is large. There are thousands of students. There is a student`s hostel near our university. I have a lot of friends. I like my university.

My school was a fine four-storey building. It was situated in Maloyaroslavets. I went to school at 6 years. There were many classrooms and special classes for studying different subjects. We studied Mathematics, Physics, English, History, Geography. There were many well-equipped rooms. Mathematics was taught in the classrooms on the third floor. My favourite subjects were physics and mathematics. There was a large hall on the first floor of our school. All the official events took place there. On the first floor there was a gym. We liked to spend breaks there. During the breaks we usually played basketball or volleyball.I liked to study there. I liked everything in my school.

There are many beautiful and interesting cities in Russia. But I especially would like to visit Irkutsk.

Irkutsk is a city in southern Russia. It is the capital of Irkutsk Oblast. Being a regional cultural center, the city has history and art museums, theaters and several institutions of higher education.

Irkutsk was founded in 1652 as an outpost and developed as a fur- and gold-trading center on the route to Mongolia and China. It was also used by the Russian government as a place of exile.

Irkutsk is a city with a very interesting history that is why I would like to visit it.

№6-13 One of the most beautiful buildings in the world.

There are many different beautiful buildings in the world, but I think that the most beautiful is the tower of London.

The Tower on the north bank of the Thames is one of the most ancient buildings in London. It was founded in the 11th century by William the Conqueror. For many centuries the Tower has been a fortress, a palace, a prison and royal treasury. Many saddest events took place within the walls of the Tower. The greatest people were sent to, tortured and executed. At present people visit the Tower as a museum to see old arms, armor as well as the Crown Jewels. The Tower is Britain's most famous and most visited historic building.

The Tower of London has a very interesting history, it is a tourist attraction and one of the main symbols of London and England.

I would like to tell you about the Museum of Transport in Manchester.

The Museum of Transport in Manchester is a museum which keeps and advances a heritage of public transport of the County of the Greater Manchester. The museum has been created to advance interest to history and a heritage of local passenger transport system. There is a great collection. It is one of the greatest museums in Great Britain. Because of the small size of a building the museum cannot contain all exhibits, therefore a part of a collection is outside of territory of a museum. Also in a collection there are two trolley buses of corporation Ashton, a pre-production model of tram Metrolink, and the Manchester tram of Corporation of 1901. There are an extensive collection of archives, old schedules, cards, books, emblems, a management and plans there. The collection of a museum constantly replenishes.
