MY FAVORITE TV PROGRAMME

I want to tell you about my favorite TV programme. My favorite TV programme is “The Animal Planet” It is a weekly programme and I watch it every week, it is true. It is so interesting. They show wild animals from all over the world: Africa, South and North America, Asia, Australia. Do you know that is the only continent of the world where marsupials live nowadays? They also have so many different birds, big and small. And sometimes this programme is shot at the Zoo. All the Zoos of the World. We can see animals we have never seen alive. Panda for example. What a nice creature! It eats only bamboo shoots and it is very careful. It is almost impossible to meet it in the wild. Not to say that it lives only in China. Please do watch this programme and I am sure you will have a lot of fun

Nowadays the TV is an indispensable thing for us. People often watch TV in their free time. One can choose the programme one likes best: sport, music, news, wild world and so on. TV programme gives us many useful and interesting informations. For example: news, the programme which tell us about current events in our country and abroad, wild world, which give us many interesting facts about animals, images of unsual animals, also some adventure programme that show us the facts about different countries and cities. You may see films on TV as well. They might be feature, adventure, scientific, cartoon etc.

I like to watch films very much. I prefer thrillers, comedies and horror movies, but I do not like tragedies and melodramas very much, and I hate soap operas, although they are becoming very popular in our country.

OLYMPIC GAMES

The Olympic Games have a very long history. They began in 777 BC in Greece and took place every four years for nearly twelve centuries at Olimpia. They included many different kinds of sports: running, boxing, wrestling, etc. All the cities in Greece sent their best athletes to Olimpia to compete in the Games. For the period of the Games all the wars stopped. So the Olympic Games became the symbol of peace and friendship. Of course, the competitions were held in Greece to symbolize the continuation of the centuries-old tradition.

In 1896 the International Olympic Committee was set up. The International Olympic Committee
decides upon the programme of the games, the number of the participants and the city-host for the Games. Over one hundred and fifty countries are represented in the International Olympic Committee now. Besides, each country has its National Olympic Committee. Summer and Winter Games are held separately. There are always several cities wishing to host the Games. The most suitable is selected by the International Committee. Thousands of athletes, journalists and guests come to the Games, and it takes great efforts to arrange everything. There is always an interesting cultural programme of concerts, exhibitions, festivals, etc., for each Games.

ABOUT SCHOOL

If you want to study well, you must feel relaxed and happy with your family, school and your social life. Your parents should understand you and help you when you need their help. My parents usually help and support me when I need it. We have our school psychologist who also helps us to overcome difficulties and cope with our problems. The main purpose of our school is to create a supportive and caring atmosphere for students.
However I think that sometimes we have too much homework. Teachers and parents insist that doing homework develops the student's ability to work without assistance, or that additional work could help us complete our

education successfully.

So a teacher plays an important role in our education, and when we remember our school years we usually remember our teachers, if they were fair and intelligent or not. I think that I'm a lucky person - almost all my teachers are very interesting and intelligent. When our teachers criticize us, they follow such rules: they try to correct a student's action, not him; they do not impress upon him that he has no abilities; they try to contribute to the minds and souls of their students; they try to be a path for their students to go through a dark forest of school rules. But I can't judge all teachers, because there are as many opinions how to treat a child as there are people. Teachers must choose their methods themselves, but they should remember that they influence and shape the student's opinion about their school. As for me, I think that in our school almost all teachers understand the students and become like parents to us. They support us and care for us. I'm happy at my school and so are my classmates.

HIGH EDUCATION

The oldest educational institutions are usually rich in tradition, they have a serve material resources, teachers with extensive experience. All these qualities are inherent to Almaty college of communication at KAU.

As the educational institution, Almaty electro-technical professional school of communication was established in September, 1930. In 1996 the technical school got a status of a college. Since 1999, the college is the structural subdivision of Kazakh-American University.

For 80 years of its functioning, the college has strongly secured a reputation of the educational institution that prepares highly qualified specialists for communication industry field. Its graduates work at many enterprises of Kazakhstan, CIS countries in any of nowadays existing branches of communication industry: radio communication, digital automatic stations.The need of the enterprises of telecommunications in our expert is so high that it removes a problem with their job placement after the end of the study. From the date of the college’s formation is has graduated over 23 thousand experts.

Nowadays, the versatile preparation of experts is incorporated in the college. All necessary conditions to get an technical training on the basis of the main and the secondary general education with the assignment of corresponding qualification are created: an electrical specialist on telecommunication networks and system of switching, the electrical engineer of linearly-cable constructions, the electrical engineer of the radio-electronic equipment, the radio operator-hydro-weather watcher.

At college the education is being conducted in Kazakh and Russian languages with thorough study of English language.
