You can use these verbs in the same way: am/ is/ are • I haven’t got a car but my sister has. (= my sister has got a car) was/ were • A: Please help me. has/ have B: I’m sorry. I can’t. C We use do / does for the present simple: • I don’t like hot weather but Sue does. (= Sue likes hot weather) • Sue works hard but I don’t. Sometimes do is the main verb (don’t do/ doesn’t do/ didn’t do): Do something! → Don’t do anything. Sue does a lot at weekends. → Sue doesn’t do much at weekends. I did what you said. → I didn’t do what you said.
