TEXT B: MY FACULTY
The training of land management engineers has been carrying out in National University of Life and Environmental Sciences since 1991, when the branch of Land Management, Agro-Chemistry and Soil department was opened in the University. In 1993 in Land Management Institute the faculty of Land Management Designing was created, which was headed by the director of Institute the academician L.Novokovsky, and in 1996 the faculty of Land Management including such departments as Land Management Designing, Land-Survey, Geodesy and Cartography was opened. The first graduation of land management engineers took place in 1996. During the next years, more than 500 land management engineers received the start in life. The correspondence form of training has been opened on the department since 1999. The training of the experts on a speciality “Land Management and Land-Survey” is carried out on the three education-qualifying levels: the bachelor (4 years), the expert (5 years), and the master (5,5 years). In the faculty now about more than 500 full-time students are trained, on the correspondence there are more than 200 persons. The purpose of educational activity of the faculty is preparation of experts for realization the country’s policy of land resources formation and management, development of the land management projects and realization the State ground land-survey, designing of nature protection measures, realization of monitoring and State control of rational use soil protection. On the lectures and practical training there visual education aids, the newest scientific, engineering and experimental documentation of land management, problems and land reform. The faculty supports stable and fruitful relations with the Ministry of agrarian policy organization and others. The faculty also cooperates with special departments of Kyiv National University of construction and architecture, Lvov, Kharkov, Odessa agrarian universities. Scholars of the faculty support creative contacts with the colleagues from foreign educational institutions and organizations of Belgium, Germany, the USA, Italy, Turkey, India, Russia and Byelorussia. All students of the faculty take an active part in the social life of the University.
