TEXT A: MY FUTURE MAJOR

 

The National University of Life and Environmental Sciences is one of advanced educational institutions of Ukraine. More than 17 thousand students study at 19 faculties and obtain such specialities: agronomist, plant protectionist, agrichemist, landscape architecture manager etc. They are very important and claimed in our country.

Ukraine’s natural sciences in comparison with Europe have started their development some later. Therefore we have poor experience in this field. But we, the prospective land managers, will raise this science on a high level.

The speciality of land manager is very important in the economic life of our state, that’s why the most promising faculty is the land management faculty. The land reform was realized in 2005. After this important event for our country the speciality of land manager became very advanced, popular and claimed in all spheres of life, especially in agriculture, as the land is the greatest treasure of mankind.

Land Management is the branch of agriculture that deals with conducting land reforms, with cadastre and distribution of land and other natural resources. Planning crop rotation in a proper way is one of the main tasks for both agronomists and land managers.

Land Management is considered to be an engineering speciality. Also it may call a universal one. It deals with natural processes, physical conditions and chemical compositions of soil, with size of farmlands.

All subjects studied at the University are very important. Land-survey studies land estimation; land law and geology deal with the structure of the land. The experts in geodesy and cartography will carry out aerial shootings of the earth and make maps. Geoinformation system will help to make the programs for drawing up of maps and estimations. All sciences investigated at the University are interconnected. The graduates of the University also will be familiar with a science of land ecology, land resources management, land processes of forecasting, with occur in the ground and so on.

Land works are constantly carried out on the territory of any developed country. Their purpose is to organize land resources rational using, increasing of agricultural culture and land protection. Therefore qualified land management specialists will be needed in future.

B: I suppose a good teacher can always help you with those problems. I am quite satisfied with teaching English in our group.
